ALEXANDRIA, La. (RPSO) - On December 26, around 10:15 p.m., a deputy patrolling the Kelley Land Sub-division was flagged down and informed of an attempted armed robbery that had just occurred.
According to the initial report, three juveniles were walking home in the Kelley Land Sub-division when two adult male suspects confronted them. The suspects started asking questions about one of the juvenile's “Jordan” tennis shoes, making it known they wanted them.
The juvenile told the suspects “no” and attempted to leave the area. As they were walking away, one of the juveniles noticed what he believed to be a firearm on one of the suspects and immediately ran from the scene. The other two juveniles also ran from the scene to their homes.
As the deputy continued his investigation, the suspects were identified as Keandre Tyree Watson, 20, and Quandarius Dwayne Baines, 22. Both suspects were located at a residence on Kerry Drive.
Watson and Baines were taken into custody without incident, transported and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. Watson was arrested for three counts of attempted armed robbery. Baines was arrested for accessory after the fact. Bond for Watson has been set at $15,000 and bond for Baines was set at $1,000.
